our busy day= hopperz for hailey’s birthday, dragon park for family down time, grandmother’s house for catching up, shelby lake for duck feeding. thank god for the weekend though, because it was a lovely day.

P.S. I can’t believe that it was just over 10 years ago when I met Hailey, Michael’s niece, and we all went canoeing as a family. We stopped to eat lunch midway and I played with her in the river the whole time. (I taught her how to say “Michael” that day, which ended up being “Guy-chael” for the rest of the year until she perfected her m’s.) She’s my niece too now, and she’s turning 12 years old tomorrow. Twelve.

My niece just turned ten. Michael had to go buy diapers for her on our first date. Man, how time flies!

ems: thank you. it’s a cheap claire’s necklace which, thanks to a spare jump ring i had lying around here, i combined with my granny’s old locket. she gave me the locket when i was like 12, and it used to have a pic of her and my granddaddy in it, but that fell out along the years. i want to put a pic of her and then of nick in it, you know, for my two favoritest people ever and all, but i haven’t done it yet.
